Everyone has those recipes in their arsenal. You know the ones. They are loved by everyone in the family, have great flavor, and don’t take very long to make. They are perfect for weeknights and weekends, for a small dinner or large gathering. As much as I cook, I still have those handful of dishes that I can make at a moment’s notice. Grilled chicken drumettes is an example. I love that you can change them up so much, like the Grilled Habanero Chicken Drumettes featured here.
I made Jai Alai Grilled Chicken Drumsticks just the other day, and with more chicken left over, I really wanted to make some spicy chicken for lunch. During our normal grocery trip at Publix, I purchased some El Yucateco hot sauces. They have a Red Habanero, Green Habanero, and XXXtra Hot Kutbil-ik sauce, all of which I’ve tried and all of which are so great, I buy them on the regular. Given that I was low on all flavors, I went for the triple whammy and purchased all three options.
For this recipe, though, I used the Red Habanero. I love the flavor of this one most of all, and I knew it would give the chicken a nice color as well, and I love pretty food.
My husband and I have been on a spice kick lately. We’ve always loved the heat, but with my husband growing habaneros and thai chilies on our back patio, we use them so much more often in our meals. My go-to has always been these Sweet & Spicy Chicken Drumettes, but changing it up all the time is kinda my modus operandi now.
El Yucateco packs so much flavor, and can be used in these recipes. I first grilled my chicken, and then baked to make sure they cooked through without getting too dry. In other words, these grilled drumettes are so flavorful, crisp, and juicy.
Which El Yucateco hot sauce would you love to try?
Grilled Habanero Chicken Drumettes

Look delicious! I think I will try this recipe but using chicken breast instead of drumettes. thanks! #client
