Why I Chose Always Eat After 7pm

If we’re being honest, I chose this book because I frequently eat after 7pm. I’m so focused on getting the kids fed that my meal comes as an afterthought. I’ve always heard to not eat too late into the evening so I wasn’t too sure if this diet plan would work, but given my hectic schedule, I was intrigued. (In case you missed it, start at this post of mine where I talk more about what drew me to the book and what I hope to benefit from by following the plan.)
Anyway, here was a book that described intermittent fasting in a different way. In reading through the book, I never felt I would be depriving myself of a good meal. You see, the author Joel Marion relays real applications of this diet to his readers and it’s easy to see yourself following the plan. There are some samples of what your day may look like if you follow the diet, and it’s simple. Not to mention that the recipes look wonderful. I need something that feels motivating because we all know that unless you can connect with a plan, it probably won’t work.
There is still time to join me on this same path toward renewed energy, increased metabolism, better sleep and, yes, weight loss. Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion is now available to purchase.
Right in the title, you can see that you don’t have to deprive yourself of your favorite snacks and other indulgences. In fact, in an interview, Joel Marion was asked, “You’re a six-time best selling author, what is different about this book compared to your others?” and he answered with, “Although many of the concepts are similar, the biggest difference is that you don’t have to deprive yourself of your favorite foods. You don’t have to deal with the burden of eating every few hours. And you don’t have to skip the carbs at dinnertime or avoid eating before bed.”
This actually makes a major difference to me because as a self-proclaimed carb queen, I don’t want to stop eating an entire group of food all together. I know that doesn’t do anything for me. Instead, with this diet plan, I’m in control of what I eat and when I eat it. I feel liberated. It helps that Always Eat After 7pm debunks the myths that you should avoid carbs, have an early dinner, and never eat before bed. Armed with this knowledge, dieting is easier and 90% of the reasons for resistance is eliminated.
If you’re still on the fence, then check this out. Joel was asked, “How difficult is the Always Eat After 7 PM plan to follow?” and his answer was, “It’s not. And that’s exactly why I wrote the book. While any diet is never truly easy, it can be more enjoyable and much easier to adhere to when you understand how Always Eat After 7pm works because it caters to our body’s natural instincts.”
We shouldn’t force something on ourselves. I truly believe that unless you have an insatiable sweet tooth, that you should give your body what it’s wanting. Why don’t we follow our body’s natural instincts more often?
More quotes from the book that drive home my decision to move forward with this diet plan:
- “Specific higher-carbohydrate foods (including berries and cherries) support your fat-burning metabolism while you sleep, providing your body with a steady stream of fuel throughout the night. The trick is knowing how to combine them with other evening and pre-bedtime fat-burning foods to fuel your metabolism as you sleep.”
- “Late-night eating also curbs calorie intake the next day. In a four-week study, dieters added a snack to their daily regimen 90 minutes after dinner every night, and check this out: late-night eaters ate an average of 397 fewer calories per day.”
Full of little nuggets just like these that make the decision easy on you. Who wouldn’t want to at least give this a shot? Learn more about the book and how to purchase here.
