You know that feeling when you are so in the thick of motherhood and work and keeping up with your house (the dishes and laundry and floors) that it’s all you can do to get through, only to collapse at the end of the night, thankful that you at least remembered to brush your teeth?
Yeah, it’s all too familiar to me too.
For a long while there I was “eating right” for me, committed to only consuming quality ingredients and making meals that made me feel good because they were healthier. It really does make a difference in not only how our bodies look, but more importantly, how they feel. But, like anyone can, I fell off the wagon. Not completely, mind you, but enough to now feel bloated and like I need a major change.
I decided to check out the book, Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion and that diet in hopes of feeling a lot better. If you’ve been feeling a little off lately, I encourage you to try this book with me. Especially now, why not get into healthier habits? Why not start feeling like a better version of ourselves? Why not find energy through food? I’m participating in this three-phase diet for:
- More energy
- Deeper sleep
- Boosted metabolism
- Weight loss (just a bonus)
Joel Marion is a bestselling author, fitness expert, and nutritionist who is debunking the myths of traditional dieting while providing us a weight loss program that is simple and highly effective. The basic premise of his program is to eat later in the evening in favor of skipping breakfast the next morning.
I know that historically, we’ve been taught that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but that may not necessarily be the case. The idea that I could eat later (because, hello, kids) and therefore just gloss over breakfast (my least favorite thing to eat anyway) and still feel awesome really sold me. I have a couple of different quotes from the book by Joel Marion that helped me decide that I wanted to try this out:
- “Always Eat After 7 PM is a three-phase program that teaches you how to lose big by strategically eating big when you are naturally hungriest — in the evening. This may sound too good to be true, but let me assure you it is no gimmick. It’s all about making strategic and smart food swaps, and you can still eat your favorite foods.”
- “Fact is, most diets are extremely narrow with regard to food choices and variety, and many even limit entire macronutrients altogether over the course of the entire program (think low-carb and high-fat diets). Three months with no carbs? No thanks. Such practices not only are extremely unnecessary, but make for a miserable, unsustainable experience.”
The Always Eat After 7 PM plan consists of: The 14-day Acceleration Phase to kick-start the program and see rapid results, The Main Phase where you’ll learn exactly which foods to eat when in order to achieve your weight-loss goals, and The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good.
The video below will also share some of the recipes so you know you are not missing out on a good eating experience, which for me, is just as important!`
I mean, how many of those meals sounded really delicious to you? I think I’m excited about every single one. And they seem really simple too.
