Our Experience at LEGOLAND and THE LEGO MOVIE WORLD
Max is that age where he’s exploring now more than ever. He loves to put things together and build intricate blocks and train displays. He loves to run barefoot in the grass and pick flowers and use his toy excavator to dig up dirt and move it around.
This is my favorite age so far. (Cause let’s be honest, newborn stage is not!)
The other week we had the opportunity to go to LEGOLAND for the first time to celebrate the grand opening of LEGO Movie World and although it was early and a little cold for Florida standards, Max was such a trooper and loved taking in everything.
He is now at the age and height where he can ride a bunch of rides, too! He is a little short for his age and he finally got to the inches needed for most of the kiddie rides we came across. Living in Tampa, we are near so many theme parks, but this was the first one that Max actually took in to this extent — riding all the rides he could, seeing 4K LEGO movies with those amazing 3-D glasses, riding on daddy’s shoulders instead of the stroller.
One of the best parts about our trip is that we went without Juliette (who is 14 months, in case you’re new around here) and, while that may seem a tad strange to say to some people, I think it’s super important to spend time with each child individually too! Max had a really great time without sissy and I think that’s very much okay. But, when she is older, you can bet that I will be taking them both to LEGOLAND because it was just the best experience!
It’s the perfect theme park for the littles. There is plenty for kids Max’s age (he will be three in May) and plenty for the older kids too. I can see us visiting many times for the next many handful of years.
For this trip, LEGO Movie World had a grand opening party complete with a small concert, dancing in the LEGO streets, streamers, and more. This was LEGOLAND’s newest and largest expansion and I’m so glad we were there for it.
Visitors can expect three new rides and numerous attractions, all inspired by the characters and themes of THE LEGO MOVIE. You’ll see a recreation of downtown Bricksburg with its lovable characters, creative eating spaces and authentic city scape where guests can experience Emmet’s Super Suite and many other surprises.
The LEGO MOVIE Masters of Flight ride encompasses the only 180-degree turn on a flying theater in the world!
THE LEGO MOVIE Masters of Flight:
Takes guests on a suspended ride aboard Emmet’s Triple Decker Couch surrounded by a full-dome virtual screen, giving the sensational feeling of flying through a world created completely from LEGO bricks.
Unikitty’s Disco Drop:
This rides takes guests through a rainbow-filled journey based on Unikitty and her many moods. Once on the ride, guests will swoop to the tiptop of Cloud Cuckoo Land, then drop, spin and bounce back down to earth in sync with Unikitt’s wide range of emotions, creating a thrilling and frenzied experience.
Battle of Bricksburg:
The only water ride at LEGOLAND Florida Resort, riders are challenged to stop DUPLO aliens from invading and stealing LEGO bricks by spraying water at targets from their boats. The riders aren’t the only ones who can enjoy playing in the water, outside of the ride will be water cannons for guests to spray and help the riders save the day.
We CANNOT wait to go back!
