I’m so happy to be back in Florida where the pools never close and backyards are always ready for parties!
Getting people together is one of my favorite activities, summertime or otherwise. There’s grilling happening and ice cold drinks to enjoy. On my grill you can find burgers for sure. It’s easily the food I eat most during these months. These days I usually prep some toppings ahead of time and make a burger bar for guests to enjoy.
It’s easier with MorningStar Farms® Grillers Original Veggie Burgers – my favorite veggie burger without a doubt. I like this brand because they’re made with non-GMO soy and no artificial colors or flavors.
For my fellow veggie burger lovers, MorningStar Farms® Meat and Veggie Lovers Burgers will be in-store at the end of this month (June). Their quarter pound veggie burgers leave me satisfied because it’s packed with plant based protein and tasty veggies.
If you love burgers as much as I do, head over to BurgerBarTruck.com because the Burger Bar Truck is touring to participating Walmart stores around the country, and there will be additional savings in-store. Also at BurgerBarTruck.com you can view recipe inspiration from Chef Capon, a 6-time Burger Bash NYC Champion! If you find yourself making the same burgers over and over again and are craving variety, this’ll give it to you.
After seeing the Burger Bar, you can bring new ideas home and create your own experience with your family!
For our outing, we used the veggie burgers and wanted to go the Hawaiian-inspired route and make a Hawaiian burger. I topped my burger with DOLE® Pineapple Slices (they’re natural fruit, high in Vitamin C, and non-GMO), a tad bit of Gulden’s® Spicy Brown Mustard (a classic condiment, am I right?), and chunky smashed avocado. I set out these same ingredients in my own burger bar so my friends could put together their burgers too.
Now let’s chat sides. Do you go the potato salad route? Chips? A salad? My favorite side with burgers is a big plate of fries. Especially when backyard games are involved and you really drum up an appetite, fries are key. We enjoyed Checkers Rally’s Famous Seasoned Fries paired with a spicy dipping sauce I made from combining Cholula® Original Hot Sauce and Gulden’s Spicy Brown Mustard.
As for the drinks, we set out Pabst Blue Ribbon and Nestlé® Pure Life® Purified Water because they are super refreshing and hydration is key so you can enjoy being outdoors longer.
Let me know what your summer plans are! What would you set out as part of your own Burger Bar?
