Our Experience at Disney World’s Hollywood Studios

Living 45 minutes from Disney certainly has its perks. Growing up in Tampa, with Disney World in your backyard and a Florida resident discount to take advantage of, many families treat their kiddos to Disney at some point. Many people I know have annual passes for the whole family. It’s a quick jump/skip/hop to the most magical place on earth!

There are a couple of things that make Disney so special:

1. Nostalgia
This is more for the adults, but I feel that even if you’ve never been to Disney, you’ll feel this sense of wonder and nostalgia simply by driving through their gates. It sounds crazy, but my heart literally swells when I see those signs.

2. Favorite characters
Even if your children don’t yet know the Disney characters (likely because they insist on watching Peppa Pig and Blippi on YouTube instead…asking for a friend, but how can I make this request stop?), they’ll come to love and appreciate these characters. Walt Disney did something right when creating these characters to so wonderfully draw the attention of our youth.

3. Always improving
Disney is also always improving their parks. They are working on a Star Wars world, Toy Story land opened not too long ago and they literally just opened the Lightning McQueen Racing Academy section of Hollywood Studios.

We were able to attend the grand opening/media event of the racing academy as guests of Sunny Sweet Days and we were ecstatic. Cars is the one Disney movie that Max is actually familiar with (I know, I need to change that!) and so when we walked into that section of the park to see some cars from the movies lined up, and then even more to see the Lightning McQueen show, Max was so very happy! Clapping hands and excited gasps included.

Then, we visited the rest of Hollywood Studios for the very first time ever with our son. Since he’s still a little guy, he was able to enjoy Toy Story World the most, riding the alien adventure game and Toy Story Mania. I rode Slinky Dog twice and we had great food and an even better experience overall!

I can’t wait to take Max (and later, Juliette, when she is older) back to the other Disney parks!
