Being a parent does things to you. All of a sudden, your decisions aren’t just with yourself in mind because you have actual humans that rely on you for survival and general happiness. It’s a pretty wild concept if you think about it. Like, who says that I know what’s best in every situation? But that’s also the beauty of being a mom. You don’t have to know everything about everything. You learn as you go and you adapt to your children and the environment and then pat yourself on the back because you are doing the absolute best you possibly can.

One place where I know I have it down is with my kids’ snacks! Of course, as a foodie myself, I don’t want to skimp on giving them what they love and helping them to discover new foods, whether that be treats or hearty snacks. (Because I’m also teaching them about balance, ya know?)

I’ve discovered that kids love aesthetically pleasing and/or fun foods just as much as us adults. I’ve started serving treats displayed like their own little meat, cheese and other snacks platter. As an adult, I am absolutely giddy over a charcuterie platter so why not give my kids their version of the same? Especially for those after school snack sessions, I’ve got you covered with this snack tray for toddlers.

We’ve also been known to take a snack plate like this into the yard with a blanket and declare it a picnic day. Especially with the nicer weather we’ve been having, all the more reason. I have meat, avocado, prunes (my kids love them!), oranges, pretzels, dried mango, crackers, and some cashew butter. I also have PAW Patrol™ String Cheese in Mozzarella!

Growing up, I was literally obsessed with string cheese. Isn’t it so fun to eat, even as an adult? My son Max just discovered what it means to pull apart string cheese and he loves doing it!

I love that this PAW Patrol String Cheese (also available in Colby Jack snack bites) provides a good source of calcium, plus, it contains protein (6 grams), is made with real milk, and has 0 grams of sugar. It’s perfect for on-the-go and an anytime snack. If you know me, you know that I am always going around town with my kids, whether that’s the zoo or the park, and to have a snack that’s easy and delicious is so ideal for those moments.

I purchased mine from Walmart and if you want to try some for yourself, there is an Ibotta offer that I highly recommend you take advantage of. For a limited time, earn $.75 cash back using the Ibotta app! Click here to learn more.

Remember that snacking should be fun and enticing for the little ones. Pick snacks they love and that you feel good about serving and you really can’t go wrong!
