Well, well, well. If today isn’t a pretty appropriate food holiday. In preparation, I made this food holiday last night for Mother’s Day dessert. Quiet honestly, I wasn’t 100% sure what I would make for National Nutty Fudge Day, but I knew I wanted it to be simple and not take too long to make.
I purchased walnuts fudge brownies from Publix and figured I would just feature them in a dessert, calling the food holiday an inexpensive and simple success. My mom, with the day dedicated to her and my official Director of Desserts, was tasked to come up with an idea and this is it. Below in the recipe, you won’t find any measurements. When it comes to sundaes, it’s very much about preference of ingredients, right?
The only thing I would’ve changed about this sundae is I would have added strawberry syrup and rainbow sprinkles. I love rainbow sprinkles on my ice cream and any fruit-based syrup is my favorite! But, it’s Mother’s Day, I was at my mom’s house, and she is a chocolate caramel lover to the core. On the bright side, we used low-fat ice cream, syrups (both chocolate and caramel), and whipped cream. You have to do what you can when you can, right?
Anyway, why go through the hassle of making every single element of every single food that has a food holiday? Especially when you’d rather spend a lot of time with your loved ones, there is no reason to spend more time with your kitchen. Make it easy on yourself and pick up your favorite nut brownies from your favorite bakery and just jazz them up a little bit!
