What is a noodle ring? It’s such an obscure thing that it doesn’t even have a Wikipedia page. And EVERYTHING has a Wiki page. But it’s really pretty simple. Noodles, what you want mixed in the noodles, a binder, and then all baked.
I made a pasta aglio e oilo with broccoli and since I had a hankering for the stuff, I decided to just make my noodle ring with broccoli and red pepper flakes, the same things that make my pasta aglio e olio as great as it is.
When you look at this thing, or at least when I looked at other people who made noodle rings and then posted them online, I didn’t know how I would get it to work correctly. It looks, for a lack of a better word, intricate.
But it took me a grand total of 30 minutes before the noodle ring was in the oven to cook, 45 minutes of it baking, and arrrrroundddd 5 minutes to scarf down a slice.
By the way, it’s totally weird to say I’m having a slice of noodles. Serve your noodle ring with a side of cheese sauce like I did, or even a spicy olive oil and some cheese, it’s allllll good. Happy National Noodle Ring Day!
