National Rum Punch Day | Watermelon Rum Punch
Coincidence that National Rum Punch Day falls on a Saturday? I think NOT!
For this food holiday, I had to go with a watermelon rum punch. When I was thinking of what to make, I just knew watermelon had to be involved. It’s so juicy and delicious and I happened to be craving it.
After some muddling, addition of rum, some citrus juices and basil, the rum punch was complete. To make it perfect, I just need some sand, blue skies, and a breeze. Have a great weekend!
Watermelon Rum Punch
- 6 cups white rum
- 4 cups cubed watermelon
- 3 cups orange juice
- Juice from 4 limes
- 10 basil leaves, shredded
- 1 cup Sprite
- Combine watermelon, orange juice, and limes into a pitcher. Muddle these ingredients together until the watermelon is more pureed with a little bit of chunk left.
- Add rum and basil; stir to combine. Add Sprite at the end and stir once more.
- Serve watermelon rum punch over ice.
