National Hot Fudge Sundae Day | Funfetti Fudge Sundae – The Foodie Patootie

National Hot Fudge Sundae Day | Funfetti Fudge Sundae

So a week or so ago, I read my friend Krystal’s blog post where she made movie snacks, one of which was a sundae (of sorts). She used orange sherbet and topped with Magic Shell’s Rainbow Sherbet flavor and even some sour Mike & Ike candies. In a word, it looked DELICIOUS. I love rainbow sherbet, and sprinkles, and basically magic shell is amazing.

For National Hot Fudge Sundae Day, I wanted to create a magical concoction that was extraordinary. I wanted to create a large enough sundae that you would think “whoa, that’s gotta contain all of the ice cream in the world, right there”. But no friends, I couldn’t possibly eat all of the ice cream that I wanted to put into a sundae and why let any deliciousness go to waste? Also, quite honestly, I made chocolate chip cookies and had a huge salad for dinner. I was full.to.the.brim.

Instead, I figured that the magic shell was amazing enough all on its own. I mean, really, come on. Just look at it. Take some scoops of strawberry ice cream, hot fudge, rainbow sherbet magic shell, and my favorite – maraschino cherries – and you have a pretty tasty treat.

I hope you are celebrating hot fudge sundaes today because you’re a fool if you aren’t!

ALSO, Tampa Bay folks, be sure to stop by the Don CeSar in St. Pete (the big pink hotel on the beach) and have their “Sundae Brunch” sundae. Available through the end of the month in their Sea Porch restaurant, it’s not something you want to pass up. Check out my blog post about it!
